Always Something New

Well, Houdini strikes again! I went into to check in Colton one morning last week & this is what I found....

How he managed to get his leg out I will never know. His hands were up by his face. We've since started swaddling him without his arms inside. He would wake himself up trying to get his hands out. Apparently on this particular morning he fought so hard his leg popped out!

Later that evening after having some cereal & a bottle we decided to kick back & watch a little TV before taking a bath & getting ready for bed. Colton was really relaxed & all he could say was "my belly is sooooo full"! Ha!

Little Man had a fun week with Daddy. They did all kinds of things & sent me pictures of most all of it while I was at work. Casey likes to keep me up to speed on their shenanigans during the day. They laid in bed, played, practiced rolling over & took selfies to send to me, which Colton thought it was so funny.

They had a photo shoot with Wally & told each other secrets...

...and Colton schooled his Daddy on how not to wear your pants, or was it the other way around? We may never know. He was very perplexed as to why his Daddy put his pants on his head. The look he's giving is all Momma.

They came & took me to lunch one day this week. Colton tried to take over & show us all up. He was making calls & negotiating deals & made employee of the month in his short time with my company.

Last Friday we had our first spend the night at Nana & PawPaw's. We got to Leakesville Friday night, went to Ali's birthday party where we saw everybody & then to the Pecan Festival on Saturday with Nana & Aunt Tammy. It was a really hot day, Colton slept most of the time. We picked up a hand-made wooden baby rattle for him & some peanut brittle for Daddy & a lot of dust for the rest of us.

One of the most fun things that happened over the weekend was Colton officially found his feet. Now he wants to hold them all the time & tries his best to get them in his mouth but he can't quite do it yet. It's so cute though. He even took his socks off the other day in the car.

This weekend with the weather being so nice we are going to try & get outside some.
Stay tuned to see what adventures await us!

Football, Real Food & Shopping

The beauty of having a baby is that everything is fresh & new & exciting. Sometimes more exciting to Momma & Daddy than Colton, but still, it's always fun.

This past weekend gave us a family football day. We stayed at the house & we all wore shirts & onesies (Colton wore the onesie, just to clear that up) supporting our teams, Colton had a wardrobe change from Penn State to Alabama. He was totally chill during the Penn State game. They had it pretty much in the bag from the first quarter so he was not worried at all.

However, he took a nap & when he woke up Alabama was losing & he knew we couldn't have that. So we quickly changed him into his Alabama onesie & it made all the difference. Alabama came back for a win! Roll Tide!

We also made some football food to snack on & Colton had his own snacks, a nice little bowl of rice cereal. YUM! This was the first time he's had "real food". It was a little messy at first but once we go the hang of it, he did pretty well. Of course "the happiest baby in the world" smiled the whole time. I told him he can't smile & chew at the same time, but he didn't care, he kept giving us a big grin covered in cereal & slober. If slober was gold, we'd be millionaires & he's not even cutting teeth yet! Every now & then when I'd put the spoon in his mouth he'd smack down on it & it would splatter on his cheeks & nose. Messy, messy, messy but so cute.

Sunday we were going to watch the Broncos play but they weren't showing it on TV, but Colton wanted to wear his Broncos gear anyway to support our team. He and I went shopping that afternoon to pick up a few odds & ends. It was his first trip to Babies R Us, he seemed to enjoy it except when we would stay in one place too long & I wasn't rolling him around. He's a little impatient. The force was strong in the clothing section & it was so hard to resist buying anything, they had so much cute stuff. Casey told me I should have bought at least one thing, but that's easier said than done. Besides, I just bought several things online & he already has things he's only worn once. He's got a better wardrobe than me & Casey!

Colton had more rice cereal & it wasn't quite as messy but he was sure full afterward. He has filled out so much in the last few months & has the cutest rolls on his little thighs & even a crease where his wrist & hand meet. But a chubby baby is a cute baby, especially one with chubby cheeks & dimples.

That was our weekend in an nutshell. In closing Colton wanted to share this picture of him & Daddy playing airplane while we were waiting on the doctor at his 4 month check-up last week. He loves to play this game & wanted everyone to know the reason his looks a little blurry is because he was flying so fast & so high.
